Televisi Republik Indonesia (TVRI) is the first broadcasting institution in Indonesia. It was established on August 24, 1962. Its first broadcast aired the Commemoration Ceremony of the 17th Republic of Indonesia’s Independence Day from the State Palace, Jakarta. This broadcast is still in black and white.
